My Song writing ability is inspired by Kirk Franklin and Nathaniel Bassey – Quame Gyedu

Gospel musician and pastor Quame Gyedu, known for his popular song “Osaberima,” has shared the secret behind his music.

Speaking in an interview on Luv 99.5 FM ahead of his event “Festival of Testimonies,” Quame discussed where his musical journey began.

Quame explained that as a child, he grew up listening to hymns that his late parents loved. At that time, hymns were the only music he knew. These songs made a deep impact on him, becoming the foundation for his love for music. Over time, however, he began to appreciate other types of Christian music, which expanded his musical taste.

During the interview, Quame revealed that two major figures in gospel music have greatly influenced his songwriting: American gospel singer Kirk Franklin and Nigerian gospel artiste Nathaniel Bassey. He expressed his deep admiration for both of them. According to Quame, their music has inspired him to write his own songs and has shaped his musical style. He even infused some style of Kirk Franklin in one of his songs during his event.

Quame’s passion for music is not just about writing songs; it’s about sharing a message of hope and faith through his music. He believes that gospel music should touch people’s hearts and draw them closer to God. This belief drives him to create songs that inspire and uplift his listeners.

Although he was busy promoting his upcoming event, “Festival of Testimonies,” which took place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, in Kumasi, the event was a big success. Many people attended, and the atmosphere was filled with worship and praise. The audience enjoyed powerful performances from guest artistes like MOG Music, Mabel Okyere, Joshua Ahenkorah, Lady Prempeh, Akesse Brempong, and Celestine Donkor, among others.

The event, which had the theme “Untamed,” left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. It wasn’t just a concert but a spiritual experience that brought people together to celebrate their faith and testimonies.

Quame Gyedu’s journey and his event remind us that gospel music is not just about entertainment; it is a powerful tool for ministry. His story shows how music can be a way to connect with God and inspire others to do the same.
