Lordina The Soprano delivers a beautiful Solo Rendition of Ghana’s National Anthem at 3i Africa Summit
Ghanaian renowned choral soloist Lordina The Soprano, known for her angelic voice and impactful Christian music, delivered a solo rendition of Ghana’s National Anthem during the “3i AFRICA SUMMIT 2024.”
The event took place from May 13th to 15th, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana.
It was organized by the 3i Africa Summit, which aims to unleash Africa’s Fin-Tech and Digital Economic Potential through Innovation, Investment, and Impact. The event was held in collaboration with the Development Bank Ghana and the Bank of Ghana.
Lordina The Soprano, celebrated for her vocal prowess, received a standing ovation from dignitaries, including Ghana’s President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, as she sang the national anthem. The lyrics, written by Emmanuel Pappoe Thompson and musically composed by Philip Comi Gbeho in 1957, include:
“God bless our homeland Ghana
And make our nation great and strong,
Bold to defend forever
The cause of Freedom and of Right;
Fill our hearts with true humility,
Make us cherish fearless honesty,
And help us to resist oppressors’ rule
With all our will and might forevermore.”
The anthem’s lyrics emphasize themes of freedom, resistance against oppression, and the strength and boldness to defend against opposing forces. It also calls for humility, honesty, unity, service, and loyalty.
Lordina The Soprano, award winning artiste with a passion for choral, classical, contemporary gospel, and operatic performances, composed a Christian version of the hit song “WELCOME HOME” by the Evergreen Ghanaian band Osibisa, which she released on March 6th, 2021, to commemorate Ghana’s 64th Independence Day.
In 2023, she released her first album named “CHARIS,” which is performing well on all digital streaming platforms.
Delivering the Ghana national anthem with calmness and power, she wrote: “Let the melodies of our national anthem fill you with hope and pride!! We may face challenges, but together with the unwavering spirit of unity and resilience, we will overcome. Here’s to a brighter tomorrow for our beloved nation.”
Her performance at the event has garnered a lot of praise.
