How I got OKASA – Emmanuel Gyamfi shares the inspiration behind his hit song
Ghanaian UK-based gospel musician Emmanuel Gyamfi recently shared the inspiration behind his latest song, “OKASA” (He Speaks), during an interview on Ghana’s Christian Television Footprint TV with Kwabby on Sunday, March 31st, 2024. Gyamfi revealed that the song, recorded live in London during the “Rain On Us” Concert, originated from a vivid dream he had during the COVID-19 pandemic era, which began in late 2019 and persisted with profound impacts on public health, economies, and daily life, prompting many to seek solace in faith.
In the dream, Gyamfi felt God is sending a message to His people, envisioning himself on stage singing to a vast congregation. Recognizing the significance of the dream, Gyamfi recorded the song upon waking up and upon time working around the song with divine inspiration, taking one and a half year to get it done. Eventually collaborating with his producer and band in the UK to bring it to fruition.
Produced by Ghanaian Keyboard Player and Producer Stephen Apenteng, “OKASA” was released on YouTube on December 1, 2023, garnering 365 likes and 4,966 views. Sung in the Ghanaian local language Twi, the song carries a profound message about the divine nature of God, which transcends language barriers. To facilitate broader comprehension, subtitles in English were added for viewers streaming the song on YouTube.
“OKASA” by Emmanuel Gyamfi is now available on all major streaming platforms, touching lives with its powerful message worldwide.
