“NANA EGYIR” brain behind the big initiative SOUND AND LIGHT FAIR that brought musicians all over to learn, study , exhibit and create music

Music director Nana Egyir Hagan recently shared his vision behind the SOUND & LIGHT FAIR, which took place from Friday, July 12th to Sunday, July 14th 2024 at the Accra Digital Center.

In an exclusive interview with blogger Skbeatz, Nana Egyir Hagan, Director of Throne Room Production, revealed his inspiration for creating the SOUND & LIGHT FAIR. He wanted to help churches and individuals find the right equipment, learn how to use it, and access it easily. He noticed a common issue while working with churches: they often struggled to buy, train, and use the right equipment effectively.

“Realizing there’s a common trend of buying equipment and training people to use it, I spoke to a few friends about creating a fair that would bring all the music shops in Ghana to one location,” Nana Egyir explained. “This way, individuals can see the equipment, understand how it works, and learn how beneficial it can be.”

Nana Egyir aimed not only to gather these shops together to solve the problems he saw in churches but also to empower Ghanaian musicians to improve their skills.

“We want to empower our musicians to become better in their craft,” he said. The event included a MASTERCLASS SESSION where musicians could learn directly from experienced and popular players.

This year’s fair started with a “360 Music Chat with Hakeem”, a renowned lead guitar player, and featured other experts like Emmanuel Wettey, Dave Jloopz, Selorm Dornyoh, Dr. Gideon K.N. Kumah, and Prince Sennah. The event continued with a Drum Jam featuring drummers Daniel Sage, Jossy Kicks, Mhassey George, Violet, and Eugene Anderson.

The MASTERCLASS had facilitators such as Aaron Thompson, Pastor Hellen Yawson, Evans Kornor, Sammy DCA, and Nana Yaw Boateng (NYB) helping musicians learn directly from them.

In its fourth year, the 2024 SOUND & LIGHT FAIR saw Throne Room Production collaborating with FredysAudio, Sweet Muzik, Virtual Sounds, Audio Visual Systems, and Phasers Integrated Systems. This partnership ensured a smooth display of equipment, easy access, and a peaceful experience for all attendees.
