Drummer’s stick breaks playing at OASIS GATHERING Concert with Nana Yaw Ofori-Attah
In the energetic atmosphere of the OASIS GATHERING event in Kumasi dubbed “FIRE FESTIVAL,” the drummer’s stick broke while he was playing.
In a video captured by blogger SkBeatz Records, the event’s official drummer played passionately, adding sweet sounds to the melodious tunes, causing individuals to worship and praise God.
The drummer, Christian Taylor, was playing “NO ONE,” a Gospel Amapiano genre song by Nana Yaw Ofori-Attah, with THE OASIS COLLECTIVE. While creating resonant sounds with his Tom groove and adding a trashy effect by playing around the Stack Cymbal, he ended up breaking his stick.
Wondering how he continued playing? Determined not to give up, he subsequently played using one hand and a single drumstick while using the other hand to get a spare drumstick for himself.
Nana Yaw, performing together with THE OASIS COLLECTIVE, caught the audience’s attention with their energetic vibes on stage, encouraging the audience to join in and showcase their dances as well.
The free event, which happened on May 18, 2024, at KNUST in Kumasi at 5 pm, featured performances from Peculiar People, Kyei Mensah, Rev CV Osei, LOGOLIGI, Children Of God, and more.
The successful event received spicy drum sounds from Christian Taylor as he jammed on “NO ONE,” released on December 29, 2023, which has received 13,684 views and 879 likes on YouTube.
