Diana Hamilton Advises Youth Against Spending All Their Time in Church

Popular gospel singer Diana Hamilton has cautioned young people about the consequences of dedicating all their time to church activities without taking steps to develop themselves.

Speaking on the Talk No Dey Cook Rice Podcast with Derrick Elorm Ashilevi, she addressed the common concern about individuals who are always in church but make little effort toward personal growth.

While acknowledging the importance of attending church, Diana Hamilton emphasized that young people risk becoming dependent if they neglect their education and career development. She shared an encounter with a young girl passionate about philanthropy, advising her: “You need to buy your own shoe before thinking of buying for someone else.”

She stressed the need for young individuals to be proactive in their personal development—focusing on education, learning social skills, understanding the corporate world, and planning their career paths. According to her, failing to acquire these skills could leave them stagnant, even after a decade, despite having personal aspirations.

Diana Hamilton concluded by reminding the youth that while church is important, Jesus is not confined to the church building. “He lives in people, and you can commune with Him anytime, anywhere,” she said, urging young individuals to balance their faith with personal growth and responsibility.
